Three Former WYSL Players Selected for Women's Pro League
 

Three former WYSL players have been selected to play for teams in the new Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) League.  Greer Barnes (Rye) has been drafted by the Los Angeles Sol, and Rebecca Moros (Mamaroneck) and Alex Singer (Rye) have been drafted by the Washington Freedom.   The WPS will begin its season on March 29, 2009 when the Freedom play the Sol at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.   

Barnes and Singer played soccer in the Rye and Patriots FC clubs, and participated in the WYSL Select and Eastern New York ODP programs.   Moros played in the Mamaroneck and Soundview United clubs in Westchester, the HBC club on Long Island, and participated in the Eastern New York ODP program.
