Subject: FC Somers Cereal Drive : Thank You from The Food Bank for Westchester
Our small soccer community positively impacted the lives of those less fortunate and hungry in Westchester this past weekend, by collecting cereal. Thank you to everyone that participated. Here's hoping this marks the start of an annual "giving back to the community" event for FC Somers.
A special thank you from The Food Bank for Westchester
The donations you collected were nothing short of spectacular! I hope you all play soccer as well as you collect cereal --- you are certainly superstars! I have the poundage on the deliveries … so far, we have the poundage at 334 pounds and over 200 boxes of cereal! You have made many agencies very happy and over half of it has already gone to one of our food pantry agencies which will distribute it at the end of this week.
Thank you does not seem to cover the kindness and generosity that you have all shown. You are a beautiful example of teamwork at its finest.
Nancy Lyons , Resource/Volunteer Coordinator , The Food Bank for Westchester

The Food Bank for Westchester Inc is dedicated to alleviating hunger in Westchester County New York and is the supply and support center for approximately 200 frontline hunger relief member agencies throughout Westchester.
Donation drop-off will be easiest for teams playing at Reis (6 teams on 9/20). Volunteers at Reis Park don’t have to sit at the collection point and miss their childs game, just be vigilant - we don’t that the cereal to walk! If you would like to help at donation drop-off or be your team coordinator please contact Helen Brady at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Teams playing at home: please consider advising visiting teams that we will be running this food drive - additional donations will be most welcome.
Liz Fedele has kindly offered to deliver donations to the Food Bank for Westchester warehouse in Millwood on Monday. When notified by the Food Bank we will advise you of how many pounds we collected.
Thank you all in advance for your support and generosity towards those less fortunate in our community.
