Re: Spring 2007 Registration
The deadline is Jan 19th but you should schedule an appointment by the week of Jan 12th. Earlybirds welcome! Presidents normally fill out the Field form and the Officers form. Every team should submit a seedings request. Those teams that want to change divisions should give a detailed explanation in the comment section of the seedings form. Don’t forget to write an alphabetical list of all your teams (new and old), and to prepare your team contact list (2 contacts per team) for the spring book and e-mail to me when completed. Insurance Certificate request form is only used if you have additional sites and facilities your club needs insured that weren’t insured in the Fall. I’ve included an update from John Haller of LSS in my registration letter. Any questions, call John (518-505-8450) or Matt (518-366-0004).
WYSL will be fielding Girls U9-U19 and Boys U9-U19 in the Spring 2007 season.

Registration deadline: Friday, January 19, 2005.
Call by January 12 to schedule an appointment for the week of January 15-19. No team or club will be accepted after this date.
The following must be presented by Club Registrars for all clubs:
All team Registration Fees, and any outstanding forfeit fees or fines owed by your club.
List all your teams, old and new, alphabetically by team name on separate sheet of paper and indicate sex and age (i.e. B12.)
Field and Team Information Form. One field is required for every six teams. Be sure to check off age of teams, furnish team names, and indicate if new to League. NOTE: Field Forms and Officers’ Forms should be filled out by President of club.
Club Officers’ Form filled out by presidents. All Presidents (or club representative) must supply work numbers and e-mail addresses.
A Co-insured Form for fields & facilities not insured in Fall 2006, must be filled out by Presidents or Registrars with names and addresses of all insureds responsible for fields and practice facilities. The certificates for insurance are good for one soccer year only (Sept 1 – Aug 31.) Fill out this form only if you have additional insureds since the Fall.
Seedings Request Form for every team (alphabetized by team name A-Z.)Note: high School teams fill out a different form than younger teams. Separate boys and girls, and then oldest to youngest team order (higher to lower division order as well.)
New Field Directions: field directions for any new fields, e-mail them to league office and website will be updated. You do not need to duplicate fields already on WYSL website.
Passes for players not already registered for this soccer year must be turned in to be stickered for the new soccer year (passes alphabetized by last name A-Z). This includes coaches’ passes, any temporary coach or tournament passes, and active and non-active player passes (separate and indicate the inactive passes of deleted players.)
New players to the League must register online and provide to their registrar a copy of birth certificate or passport with one (not two) passport-sized photo (with name of player and team on back,) and signature label – all attached to birth certificate with a paper clip.) Remember that the signature signed on the label must match exactly the name on the roster/pass. The Avery Multi-Purpose Label (#05422, S828 – 1/2” X 1-3/4”) is a suitable label, available at Staples. Do not paste or staple pictures to birth certificate.
Teams with players aged 12, 15, and 18 must submit new pictures and signatures on signature file label (Avery Multi-Label #05422, S828), if needed, depending upon how recent the pictures are (registrar’s discretion.) If re-doing a whole team, attach with paper clip alphabetically and clockwise around a blank piece of paper noting team name.
Transfers: Attach old pass and a new picture/signature label to completed transfer form.
New Spring Coaches or Fall Temps must submit a picture (with name, team and club name on back), copy of any proof of licensing, if any, along with a signature label. The new coach is required to be licensed – either by taking one of the 8-hr WYSL 8-hr coaching clinics (or state license) and free 2-hr orientation.
NO TEMP PASSES WILL BE GIVEN TO COACHES IN THE SPRING SEASON. All temp passes from the fall season must be returned to League office, along with a new photo and signature label with proof of licensing and orientation for a permanent pass to be made. All licensed coaches must register online with Risk Management.
Team Contacts for Spring 07 Book: Suggestion: Use Fall 06’s coach information spreadsheet format for Spring 07 as your foundation (do a “Save As”) – make revisions and e-mail to ldargenio@wyslsoccer.org ASAP.
Notes for Setting up Spring Sessions
If you have a new registration cycle, and you are having families come in and register their kids for Spring Travel, you should create a new session. NOTE that you can save LOTS of time by duplicating an existing session (on the Session List page from Manage Account, there is an icon that shows a piece of paper with an arrow to another piece of paper – click that). This will create a new session with the same description and divisions as the one you are duplicating. Then you can go in and edit the duplicated session – change the name to Spring Soccer 2007, change the dates, and tweak the divisions as necessary. Then go to Manage Teams and create new teams for the divisions.
If your Fall registration was for Fall and Spring, and you want to simply open up the registration for a few additional players, you will Edit the Fall/Spring session and make sure the Registration Open dates allow people to register.
After people have registered and have been placed on teams, submit the teams to WYSL.
