New Coach Courses 2014 (Replaces 8hr WYSL Coach Course)

New WYSL Coach Education Course Pathway

WYSL have entered into a partnership with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and the New York Red Bulls to provide WYSL coaches with a range of coach education courses, certifications and resources.

NSCAA Overview

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Kan., the National Soccer Coaches Association of America has grown into the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization that serves members at every level of the game. The NSCAA works every day to inspire coaches and ignite their passion for the game so they pass it on to players and others in the soccer community. We fulfill that goal through three core values: “Learn. Participate. Belong.”

New York Red Bulls Coach Education Overview

The Red Bulls professional coach educational staff are responsible for delivering all NSCAA courses within NY and NJ. Through the NSCAA/Red Bulls relationship, WYSL coaches will benefit from expert course instructors, free access to the Red Bulls online youth curriculum and a range of additional coach education support services.

Course Information

At the grassroots level, the NSCAA offers a range of diploma course starting with Level 1, progressing up to Level 6, additional specialized course are offered along with GK diploma courses (GK diplomas not acceptable for license credit).  The NSCAA Level 1 course has replaced the old WYSL 8 hour certification course and is a minimum requirement for all WYSL coaches. If you already hold an equivalent soccer coach license (USYSA F License, NSCAA Regional Diploma, or AYSO U-12, please submit your license or diploma to your club registrar or email to ldargenio@wyslsoccer.org for credit toward this requirement.

Hosting a Course

WYSL organization can request to host a course in their local community, host organizations are required to provide a field, classroom facility and point of contact. A minimum of 15 coaches candidates are required to run the course. To ensure good attendance, courses will be promoted throughout Westchester using the league, NSCAA and Red Bulls marketing platforms. To host a course please complete and submit the following form.
