For the Spring 2018 season, the WYSL RECONFIRMS the requirement of hard copy of rosters (Official Lineup Cards), and physical coach and player passes, or the team FORFEITS. [See II.3 on pp. 16-17 of the Spring 2018 WYSL Rules. There are NO exceptions to this rule in the Spring 2018 as all guest teams are registered in SI Play.]
Whether or not a coach has electronic passes on his phone, coaches must bring physical passes and hard copy of Official Lineup Cards and present them to the referee. FAILURE TO HAVE THE APPROPRIATE PHYSICAL PLAYER AND COACH PASSES FOR THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND AT LEAST ONE COACH AND HARD COPY OF THE OFFICIAL TEAM LINEUP CARD WILL CAUSE A TEAM TO FORFEIT. A PLAYER WITHOUT A PHYSICAL PASS CANNOT PLAY AND A COACH WITHOUT A PHYSICAL PASS CANNOT COACH.
Official Lineup Cards should be marked “APPROVED” and should look like the link below. However, if a team presents an Official Lineup Card to the referee prior to the game that meets all the requirements of an Official Lineup Card except that it does not include an “APPROVED” stamp and names of players are crossed out (in which case the lineup card should look like the other link below), then the game may be played (and not forfeited based solely on not having a stamped lineup form), but the team shall receive a $100 fine in accordance with League rules.
The Official Lineup Card must be filled out completely and must include a proper jersey number for each player, the names of all coaches on the sidelines (which can be written in by hand) and a coach’s signature. Names of players must be pre-printed on the form EXCEPT for the names of Intra-Club Guest Players, which may be hand written in the box provided.
In addition, if a team wants to play Intra-Club Guest Players (up to a maximum of three age-appropriate guest players, except for games on April 8 when up to five age-appropriate guest players may play), the team must complete and hand to the referee prior to the game at check-in hard copy of an Intra-Club Borrowing Guest Player Form listing the guest players, signed by an official of the club, along with the guest players’ physical passes, or else such guest player(s) shall not be allowed to play. The referee should indicate in his/her game report that an Intra-Club Borrowing Guest Player Form was submitted and retain a copy of such form until one month after the end of the relevant season. [NOTE: Please consult the complete WYSL Rules for other requirements relating to the Intra-Club Guest Player Program.]
